The Opportunity

We are looking to appoint an experienced Financial Professsional for 3 days a week (this could be 4 – 5 shorter days and some working from home is also an option) to report to the Financial Controller to help enable the next stages of our growth.

We are looking for someone who is excited by the idea of a flexible role within a small, personable business and can see the bigger business picture as well as roll up their sleeves and get stuck into the financial details.

The key aspects of the role include:

  • Taking the lead on the Bookkeeping and Management Reporting duties for the London and New York offices recording all transactions accurately in Xero
  • Production of the fortnightly Financial Dashboard for the use of the Leadership team
  • Raising and managing all client invoices and paying supplier bills as well as being responsible for all Purchase and Sales Ledger work, Payroll, VAT Returns, and staff expenses
  • Working with our external accountants to assist with the preparation on the monthly payroll run
  • Supporting the Financial Controller and wider Leadership Team with planning and forecasting for the business and on going strategic needs to underpin the business growth
  • Ongoing focus on improving processes, making the best use of new technology to ensure that the finance function is operating as efficiently as possible

Desired Skills & Experience

The successful candidate is likely to:

  • Have previous accounting and bookkeeping experience (this is essential)
  • Be a qualified accountant (or qualified by experience)
  • Have experience of accounting software (we currently use Xero, Dext)
  • Ideally have worked in a small/medium – owner managed business
  • Ideally have experience of an international business with a good understanding of how to make international payments, manage intercompany transactions and an awareness of international accounting considerations
  • Be willing to undertake all aspects of the job, many of which are general bookkeeping duties

The outstanding candidate will be able to demonstrate they can perform these key elements of the role in a way that adds to the Brand Genetics positivity and human-first culture

As a London-based opportunity, the candidate also needs to have the right to work in the UK. We are not sponsoring visa applications for this role
