Video Gallery of Super Bowl 2013 Ads: Where’s the Innovation?

Here’s a video gallery of all ads screened during yesterday’s brand-fest otherwise known as the Super Bowl – at the Mercedes Benz superdome in New Orleans and featuring the Pepsi Halftime Beyonce show – reunited with her Destiny’s Child kin.

From an innovation perspective, there was little to get excited about – in the advertised products themselves or how they were advertised (at $4m a pop). Pepsi pitched it’s new half-sugar Pepsi Next variant in a familiar kids-wreck-the-home-when-the-parents-away-party ad, Budweiser pitched its latest fruit of beer co-creation – a new variant of Bud called “Black Crown”, and Beck’s pitched “Beck’s Sapphire” – another new premium variant, again in a black bottle. Both used interchangeable glossy ads featuring lots of black. VW got into hot water with its black-Jamaican-voices-on-white-faces ad for the Beetle…
